who we are, what we want

United Front Committee for a Mass Labor Party is a group of Marxist organizers and labor militants who work towards the foundation of a mass labor party founded and run democratically by workers themselves. Workers’ own party, independent from both big parties that dominate the electoral scene in the US, is both possible and necessary.

What We Do

CALL TO BUILD A MASS LABOR PARTY to lead in our political struggle

A Mass Labor Party is central to represent and fight for the working class in everyday struggles as well as forming a workers’ government. The Labor Party will truly represent the political will of the working classes.

Build a United Front against Fascism

Under today’s conditions, it is only through a United Front with unions, workers, and left organizations and groups that we can fight against the rising fascist tide.
Unions, working-class and left organizations.

Fight for Economic-Democratic Rights

Capitalists are attacking from all fronts on the rights of the workers, be it wages, health care, work intensification, overtime and unpaid forced labor.  Women, minorities, immigrants, blacks, LGBTQ community, indigenous first nations, and environmentalists are under constant attack. We need a strong, mass labor party to stop these systemic attacks once and for all.

Committee for a labor party –

who we are, what we want

United Front Committee for a Mass Labor Party is a group of Marxist organizers and labor militants who work towards the foundation of a mass labor party founded and run democratically by workers themselves. Workers’ own party, independent from both big parties that dominate the electoral scene in the US, is both possible and necessary.

It is possible, because both the Democrats and the Republicans have revealed themselves in the eyes of the working class to be the political executors of the bosses’ whims. As Covid-19 roams freely across the nation and claiming tens of thousands of lives, the political representatives of both parties rush to save the bosses’ profits. They reopen workplaces without necessary measures. They bail out corporations and not the workers or hospitals. In response, workers in many states and of many brands are organizing walkouts, protests and strikes to fight back. We and our fellow workers know very well, now more than ever, that neither party will save us from the virus or impending economic crisis.

It is necessary, because the societal collapse triggered by Covid-19 also showed that pushing either party from the left leads to a dead end. Neither party had any problem with approving Trump’s “stimulus program”, which gave billions of dollars to corporations and very meager amounts to workers and hospitals. The only political figure with a remotely pro-worker agenda, Bernie Sanders, has stepped down just when his slogan and call for “Medicare for All” is felt to be burningly needed. Neither party will provide a platform for working-class demands. Workers’ own political platform is as vitally necessary for survival as bread and healthcare.

We therefore call for a clean, independent slate for a workers’ party, workers’ candidates, and a workers’ government. To this end, we invite workers, union leaders, rank-and-file activists, and organizers to work together towards the foundation of a democratically controlled mass labor party.  Let’s fight together in coordination against the bosses’ literally murderous attempts! Let our united voice ring louder than both parties representing all bosses combined! Let’s start organizing for our own party entirely independent of those of bosses, and entirely under democratic workers’ control! We might have different experiences and points of view, which we shall discuss in our united struggles. However, the urgency of the moment requires us to unite around our class’s issues!

The urgency of the moment is burning indeed – let that fuel our anger and enthusiasm! We need to start building our party now if we are to survive! So let us set up United Front Committees for a Labor Party wherever the moment finds us – in our workplaces, in our neighborhoods, in our unions, in our communities!

Forward for a workers’ party and workers’ government!
