Time For A General Strike Against The US War Drive Against Iran, Venezuela & Cuba, ICE & Attacks On The Working Class
The Main Enemy Is At Home!
The coordinated military attack by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28 with thousands of bombs causing massive death and destruction is another chapter in the history of US criminal wars in the Middle East. The US and Israel want to do to Iran what they did to Iraq. Iran was prepared to make major concessions but the US and Israel were not interested in allowing Iran to continue to exist as a single united country.
This war has turned into a regional war with Israel seeking to destroy Iran and to use this latest war to expand “Greater Israel.” It would not be able to do this alone, but like its genocidal crimes in Gaza and the pogroms in the West Bank, it is engaged in building a “Greater Israel Project.”
US Israel Ambassador Mike Huckabee has supported the religious justification for it to take over large parts of the region.
Since 1953, when the US organized Operation Ajax, a covert coup that overthrew Iran’s democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, it has continued to use it’s military power to control the region.
Moreover, the US is desperate to go on the offensive against China and stopping the oil flow to China is an important reason for the attack on Iran and Venezuela. The US is a declining imperialist power and cannot compete against China economically. Trump used the military for the capture of Venezuelan President Maduro and the seizure of its oil which supplied 5% of China’s oil. It has now stopped the oil that supplied to China which is 15% of China’s supply.,
The workers and oppressed minorities in Iran will not be helped by this US Israel attack. The reactionary capitalist regime in Iran has a long history of torture and has had to employ police state tactics in order to stay in power against the workers, women and minorities but the US invasion does not help them as the US destroys Iran.
The existence of the colonial puppet Arab states propped up by US imperialism is also threatened by this US-Israel war. US bases in these countries help reactionary theocratic regimes where migrants have no rights and face slave labor conditions., They have the power and weight to overthrow the reactionary monarchies and bring about democratic governments that would represent the workers and people of these countries. This new US Israeli war is already destabilizing the ability of these puppet imperialist regimes to stay in power as this war grows.
This war also shows the complete fragility of this economic expansion as hundreds of thousands are fleeing these countries. Without these workers, these economies are unviable as well.
The US and Israel are intent on destroying Iran as a country and are already encouraging the Kurds and other minorities to break it up much like the break-up of Iraq with sectarian fratricide in order for Israel and the US to turn Iran into another weakened regime that can be plundered by both Israel and the US, .
The working people of the US and workers of the world must organize general strikes and mass mobilizations against this imperialist war, which will only benefit the war profiteers and capitalist speculators.
This invasion, like the invasions of Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan, have only escalated the decline of US imperialism. The fascist Trump government, with the support of the Democrats, passed a trillion dollar military budget, which it now wants to expand by $500 billion. This is a bi-partisan funded war.
The war will also be paid for by the expansion of massive cuts in healthcare, education, housing and living conditions.
The massive capitalist speculation of AI, data centers and crypto and now speculation in the war industries will make an economic collapse greater than 2008 more likely.
The Trump fascist Project 2025, which includes privatization of all public services, education and healthcare along with complete deregulation of the economy and union busting allowing the destruction of federal public unions, is leading to a massive class confrontation. The movement for a general strike against the Trump government will be strengthened by this new major imperialist war.
We need a united front movement in the US for a general strike against this criminal war will lead to a growing pre-revolutionary situation in the United States.
Trump and his techno-fascist government cannot afford mid-term elections, as even his previous supporters are turning against the attacks by ICE and the growing inflation and economic attacks. They are openly preparing for martial law and will possibly use the pretext of war to impose the Insurrection Act.
The Democratic Party, supported by the trade union bureacracy, cannot stop this fascist government. The Democratic Party has supported privatization and the deregulation of AI and they supported the funding for the imperialist war machine and the continued genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.
We must build a workers’ united front against this US-Israel imperialist war on Iran and the people of the Middle East. We need to build toward strikes and actions for the defeat of this criminal war on the workers and people of Iran.
This builds an international working class united front against imperialism and fascism. The only solution for the capitalists and imperialists is global war and the only solution for the world working class is to fight for power and against these imperialist adventures.
The UFCLP also supports the construction of a mass democratic workers party in the US. The Democrats, who are embedded in most of the US trade union bureaucracy, must be challenged. The fight for a workers’ party is directly connected to the fight against the war in Iran, and the attacks on Venezuela and Cuba, Nigeria and Iran.
