SUMMARY:DUMP A’s Billionaire Fisher’s Stadium Scam
DESCRIPTION:2/17/22 Press Conference and Rally \n\n\n\nStop Privatization & Union Busting From The Port To The Schools!\nDUMP A’s Billionaire Fisher’s Stadium Scam \nNot One Penney of Tax Money For Gentrification & Privatization!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, February 17\, 2022 12:00 Noon \n\n\n\n\nOakland City Hall – Oscar Grant Plaza \n\n\n\nThe City Council of Oakland is pushing ahead to give GAP-A’s billionaire owner John Fisher hundreds of millions of dollars of city and state funds for his private stadium\, hotels\, and 3\,000 1 million-dollar condos that will wreck the Port of Oakland and drive out working-class Black and Brown community members. \nThey also claim they are against the privatization of the schools in Oakland\, but they ignore the fact that Fisher and his family control KIPP and Rocketship charter schools\, and even the president of A’s Dave Kaval is on the board of Rocketship. Why are they helping him and his agenda? \nThese politicians are planning to help a billionaire’s development as well when thousands of Oakland residents are homeless and living in tents. The connection between the proposed shutdown of Oakland public schools by the Bloomberg-controlled school board is being helped by Assemblywomen Mia Bonta and Democratic Superintendent Tony Thurmond. \nDemocratic politician Mia Bonta’s bill AB 1912 requires that schools be sold off to developers to get money for the schools\, and her husband and now Attorney General Rob Bonta with the support of Democratic Assemblywomen Nancy Skinner introduced and passed a bill in the legislature that allowed Fisher to grab the land at Howard Terminal and get public tax dollars from Oakland and the State for this land grab. This was supported by labor-backed Gavin Newsom who just helped dump the single-payer healthcare bill for California since he takes his orders from the Hospital bosses and Health insurance plans like Blue Cross and Kaiser. \n\n\n\nThe other part of this deal is the head of the Alameda Building Trades Andreas Cluver who is also the president of the Port of Oakland. He has supported the privatization and has got support from the head of Alameda Labor Council Elisabeth Ortega-Toro who wants to destroy a working port to build a stadium\, hotels\, and condos. Cluver and Ortega-Toro have betrayed the more than 80\,000 maritime workers and their unions including the ILWU Locals that have led the fight against systemic racism and for worker rights. He is also trying to bring in the Teamsters at an Eagle Rock Aggregates gravel operation in the port to pit Teamsters against ILWU longshoreman doing the boss’s job. This union-busting tactic by Cluver is a threat to all working people and that is why the bosses and their politicians put him on the Port Commission to do their dirty work. \n\n\n\nWhat is also behind this is that these capitalist politicians take their orders from the billionaires who really run Oakland and California. While California has a $45.7 billion-dollar budget surplus\, they are starving OSUD\, SFUSD\, and San Francisco City College and are using the publicly funded but privately run FCMAT (Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team) to order budget cuts and school closures in mostly urban working-class Black and Brown school districts. \n\n\n\nThis of course will benefit the developers who want the school sites for condos\, and it is a major statewide land grab backed by the Democratic Party and their funders. It is time to call a halt to the destruction of the Port of Oakland and reject any corrupt deal with scam artist Fisher. We need to demand a halt to any closures and for full funding of the schools\, but this will not happen without mass worker\, community action. Workers have the power to shut Oakland and the State down to defend public education and stop privatization. We also need a democratic labor party that will stand up for our schools and Port instead of implementing the billionaire’s agenda. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe time is NOW!\nSTOP The Corrupt GAP A’s Fisher Deal at The Port & STOP The Shutdown of Our Public Schools!

SUMMARY:PROTEST ISRAELI TAKEOVER OF CLOVER DAIRY IN SOUTH AFRICA BY ISRAELI CORPORATION
DESCRIPTION:THURSDAY JAN 27\, 2022  12:00 NOON \nSAN FRANCISCO ISRAELI CONSULATE\n456 MONTGOMERY ST SAN FRANCISCO\, CA 94104 \n\nLOS ANGELES ISRAELI CONSULATE\n6380 WILSHIRE BLVD.\, LOS ANGELES \n\nNEW YORK ISRAELI CONSULATE\n800 SECOND AVENUE\, NEW YORK\, NY 10017 \n  \nClover is the largest dairy company with 5\,000 workers. In 2019\, the ANC government allowed it to be taken over by the Israeli billionaire Wertheim family. They promised to protect jobs until October 2022\, but they are now laying off thousands and shutting plants in rural communities with plans to import Israeli products. The company also imposed a 20% cut in wages. \nThe South African Federation of Trade Unions\, General Industrial Union of South Africa\, and Food and Allied Workers union are also demanding that the company be nationalized and that it be run under workers con- trol. They are also supporting an international day of solidarity action. \nActions will be held at Israeli consulates\, embassies\, South African consulates\, embassies\, and the Israeli bank Mizrahi Tefahot which is owned by the Wertheim family and is the third largest bank in Israel. \nThe Wertheim family also controls the Coca-Cola franchise through the Central Bottling Company\, CBC. \nThey support and fund Israeli settlements on Palestinian land and the Israeli Defense Forces. \nOn January 18th\, in an escalation of the attacks on striking workers by Clover bosses\, rubber bullets were fired at workers injuring them at the Clover Clayville plant in Johannesburg. The use of rubber bullets by Clover’s private security forces is linked up directly with the treatment of Palestinians except they use bullets to terrorize and murder. \nWorkers’ demands are clear: \n1. The unconditional re-instatement of all retrenched workers \n2. The complete scrapping of all austerity measures including the 20% salary cuts \n3. The disinvestment of Milco SA/CBC \n4. Nationalization of Clover SA and its complete transformation into a co-operative run by workers and communities.

SUMMARY:ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! NO PUBLIC FUNDED STADIUM IN THE PORT OF OAKLAND FOR BILLIONAIRE\, A’S OWNER\, JOHN FISHER
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday Jan 19\, 2022 12:00 Noon\nAt: Oakland City Hall\nOscar Grant Plaza\n(Wear your masks)\n \n\n\nIt is time to call a halt to the A’s billionaire owner John Fisher’s plans for a stadium in the Port of Oakland. Why are Oakland politicians and some union officials pushing spending $700 million for a privately owned stadium\, hotels and 4\,000 million-dollar condos for the wealthy? We need to stop this racist gentrification project at the port. \nOn January 19th\, there will be another environmental hearing to approve the EIR that this project will follow the environmental rules. This is another charade. State politicians Nancy Skinner and Rob Banta with the support of Governor Newsom changed the rules to allow the port to be destroyed by the billionaire’s development and for it to be funded by hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money. \nWhile thousands are homeless in Oakland\, they want Fisher who also owns the GAP and controls the KIPP and Rocketship charter school chains to take more control of the Oakland Community. People and trade unionists will be speaking out against out against public money for this billionaire’s development scheme. \n\nThis project will also destroy 80\,000 maritime jobs of ILWU and other maritime unions at the port which is critical to the Bay Area. Where will the thousands of trucks park but in the West Oakland neighborhoods. The mayor and the Port Commission and it’s chair Andreas Cluver who is also head of the Alameda Building Trades really don’ t care since they are taking orders from Fisher. \n It is time to stop this scam and con game by billionaire Fisher and his rubber stamps. \n\nReject the EIR Report\nNo Union Busting In The Port Of Oakland!\nWorking Class Housing With Public Funds!\nStop Allowing Billionaires to Rip Off The People of Oakland!\n\n\n\nInitiated by United Front Committee For A Labor Party UFCLP\nEndorsed by Melody Davis\nFor information contact: 415-867-0628\nhttps://www.facebook.com/masslaborpartyusa
